:: Give me a dessert menu and I’ll choose the citrus option every time. Whether it be a lemon meringue pie, lime brulée tart or a lemon cheesecake; rich, creamy curd coupled with the freshness and piquant zing of citrus juice is a heavenly combination.
After a lovely dinner with a friend on Beaufort Street, we dropped into Soto Espresso for a hot chocolate and a spot of dessert. We made a beeline for the counter through the large and open interior, which is reminiscent of a New York loft with its minimally partitioned levels and large canvases by local artists on the walls.
I picked this lavishly decorated mini lemon lime tart from the sweets cabinet, while Alicia had a tall hot chocolate topped with marshmallows. I almost didn’t want to eat the tart and ruin its perfection but eventually temptation got the better of me!
